Administrator Update - September 1, 2023

Welcome to John Diefenbaker Senior School, home of the Trojans!

JDSS is a Grade 7 through 12 school in Hanover ON.  It is a new school, built in 2019, replacing the old JDSS/Hanover District High School which had been educating students since 1924.

JDSS has approximately 800 students and a wide variety of special programs.  We have six Specialist High Skills Major Programs in Construction, Hospitality and Tourism, Information Technology, Manufacturing, Transportation and Non-Profit.

Our Athletics program is similarly varied as well as successful with many teams and individuals going to BAA finals, CWOSSA and OFSAA.

Our academic programs strive to prepare students for their next step whether it be university, college, apprenticeship or the workplace.  Students work hard and play hard at JDSS!  There are multiple opportunities through local, provincial and international field trips for students to augment their learning and life experience.

Becoming a JDSS Trojan means getting involved.  Whether it’s a drama presentation, Model UN, flag football or intramurals at lunch, you become one of the family when you get involved.
