Every year, dozens of parents, guardians, and community members help enhance our students’ experiences through volunteer support at school and on field trips. JDSS deeply appreciates this generous sharing of time, skills, and knowledge. We hope that you, too, will want to take part in your child’s school life.
Please note that some preparation is required before you can volunteer. To participate in school or extracurricular activities, you must complete the necessary paperwork in advance.
The Bluewater District School Board requires all adults wishing to volunteer or participate in school activities to complete the Vulnerable Sector Screening process through the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). This process is mandatory for all volunteer roles at JDSS, including:
-
Classroom volunteers
-
Chaperones on field trips or sports events
-
Assistant coaches
-
Food service volunteers
-
Literacy support volunteers
-
Club and extracurricular activity helpers
