Select a program that matches your interests and future goals:
1. Information and Communications Technology (ICT)
Computer systems, programming, cybersecurity, digital media, and emerging technologies.
2. Transportation
Automotive technology, mechanics, repair, and transportation systems.
3. Construction
Carpentry, electrical, plumbing, design, and skilled trades.
4. Hospitality and Tourism
Culinary arts, event planning, tourism, and customer service.
5. Manufacturing
Welding, machining, robotics, engineering, and production technology.
How SHSM Works
Students complete a bundle of learning experiences that include:
- Required SHSM courses in Grades 11–12
- Industry certifications (e.g., First Aid, CPR, WHMIS)
- Hands-on learning (co-op, job shadowing, workplace visits)
- Reach-ahead experiences (college, university, apprenticeship visits)
- Career and pathway planning activities
When Do I Start?
- Grade 10: Explore and apply for SHSM
- Grade 11: Official program begins
- Grade 12: Complete remaining requirements
Most students complete SHSM over Grades 11–12.
