Please read the letter from BWDSB Director, Lori Wilder. Here
Winter Break is from December 19th to January 3rd.
Have a safe holiday.
Dear Parents/Guardians:
Thank you for your ongoing efforts, which have made the school re-opening process possible, and for adhering to public health and safety measures that have ensured schools remain a safe place for our students and staff.
The holidays are going to look different this year. We want to take this opportunity to encourage all families to consider what we can all do to make the return to school in January 2021 as safe as possible. As you are aware, we have been working diligently to reinforce the health and safety protocols aimed at protecting our students, educators, and staff to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at schools.
During the holidays, it is important for everyone to adhere to the public health measures in our community when connecting with one another. By following public health advice, we can all have a safe and fun holiday season. You can check the provincial government’s holiday web page for more guidance on how we can plan for a safe holiday season.
As a reminder, anyone feeling ill should not attend school. All children, students, staff, and essential visitors must be screened for symptoms of illness every day before attending school or child care. To help meet this requirement, you may use the provincial COVID-19 school screening tool found on our Bluewater District School Board website along with additional helpful resources and information.
Self-screening will still be a requirement when we return to school. We will continue to follow our current protocols around masking, hand hygiene, and physical distancing. We encourage you to visit the Grey Bruce Health Unit website to learn about the public health measures that are in place in our community.
As always, please feel free to reach out to the school if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Kim Harbinson
Principal JDSS
Welcome to the new JDSS website! This site is a work in progress as we transfer information from our old website to the new one. If you have questions or suggestions for the website, please contact us at the school or send an email.
If you wish to make contact with a teacher or administration - please feel free to call the school or check the staff page. The more communication there is between school and home, the more likely it is that our students will be successful.
Many of our parents/guardians are using School Cash Online and are loving it! This means that the school has to deal with less cash and fewer cheques and increases security for you. If you haven’t already, please consider signing up with School Cash Online for your convenience.
